Dr. Griffin is an ophthalmologist and a physician specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases. Upon receiving his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Griffin was awarded both the prestigious Lyons Medal and the Fitzsimmons prize in surgery.

Continuing his education in America, Dr. Griffin completed extensive post-graduate surgical studies at Boston University and the University of Rochester. He was a Harvard Fellow in Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston.

Dr. Griffin, a board certified Ophthalmologist, is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is also a member of the New York State Ophthalmologic Society and the Onondaga Country Medical Society.

Dr. Griffin is also co-author of a textbook on Ophthalmology and has written a number of papers on topics within his specialty.
